Biography
Pearl Afrika, born Nomhle Pearl Nongogo, is a South African singer, songwriter and performer originally from Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape.
She discovered her passion for music at the age of six through church choirs and community music groups before relocating to Johannesburg to pursue a professional music career.
Pearl became a member of the renowned Joyous Celebration ensemble and has performed as a backing vocalist for numerous local and international artists.
In 2011, she released her debut album, Ikhwezi, which earned two South African Music Award nominations for Best Female Artist and Best Adult Contemporary Album.
Today, Pearl continues to perform, record and expand her career while bringing powerful vocals, authenticity and stage experience to audiences across Africa and beyond.
